Which Piece is Your Favorite?

Charlie Bear here. Anyone remember this game? (Check the end of this post for additional news that will rock your dog-loving socks off.)

Monopoly Game

Did you know Hasbro added a new game piece?

cat token for monopoly

They conducted a vote. (They forgot to ask my opinion, but that’s okay. I would have voted with the 29% of others to keep the most popular of the classic tokens: the Scottie Dog. Woof!). Anyway, the shoe, wheelbarrow and iron were up for elimination and the iron received the fewest votes.

Poor iron! It’s ousted. And in slinked the cat. There are more than 86 million cats living in the U.S. Do you think they all voted? At least it didn’t take this long to get the Scottie Dog. He came along in the early 1950s. Did you know the original version had a lantern, purse, cannon and rocking horse? I bet the horse was cool.

Oh…you won’t believe it…but there’s a DOGOPOLY version too.

Dog-opoly Board Game

Mom’s favorite is the little shoe. Which Monopoly game token is your favorite?

Wiggles and woofs to you,
Charlie Bear

      Shawnelle,
A dog is a good token for the game. Me, I’d make it a Shit-zu like me or a greyhound like your Sissy girl.

Charlie Bear, since I’ve never played Monopoly, Oh, yes, there are probably quiet a few of us that have never played the game before; say do you think I should try to learn at the ripe age of nearing 87 y/o? It probably would be a challange. Could I have 2 favorites? I will say the dog but the cat would come in a close second. Take care Charlie Bear and lots of hugs to you & yr Peep Mom.

      Beaugie,
Monopoly is one of those games people love where they amass fortunes in real estate and railroads and utilities. Mom played it a lot as a kid. Me, not so much. Woofs!

The Scottie dog is my favorite. However, when I got my Monopoly game when I was about 10, the pieces were painted wooden pieces. Yes, that was a LONG time ago. I still have the game. 🙂

      Marsha,
Wow…you might have a collectible? Wooden pieces sound cool. The metal ones are good, Mom says, and I’m with you on the Favorite Scottie Dog!

We play the Dog-opoly version here, but back in the day…the Scottie dog was favoured. Dogs rule! Who let in a cat?

Well, I liked the iron. Shoot! I used to pretend it was real, but the kitty is a wonderful new game piece! xo
