Mom Peep Got a New…
Charlie Bear here.
She got a new mouse.
Nope, not this kind:
She had a wired one for like forever with a long extension USB cord on it to make it reach from the back of the computer all the way up and around and on top of her desk, but she was used to it, it worked fine. Except that one morning Dad Peep sat down and looked at a few things online on her computer, and he said, “This mouse sticks.” “What’s the matter with your mouse?” “How can you stand this. It doesn’t move or glide like it should.”
Mom Peep just looked at him. She’d been used to it, it was fine, she didn’t even notice that it stuck. Well, okay, she didn’t complain, but if she was honest with herself, she’d admit that her fingers had been hurting her lately just cause they had to work extra hard to make the mouse do all it’s mouse-y things.
So Dad Peep said, “Why don’t you get a new one?” And Mom said, “Nah, it’s okay.” And then guess what happened? Dad Peep walked in the house a short time later and said, “Can you use this one? I found it in the garage.” She looked at it, a cute little black thing, and lo and behold, it matched her wireless keyboard. It was a wireless mouse. Just what she needed.
But it didn’t work. “Maybe that’s why it was in the garage,” Mom Peep said.
Dad Peep took the back cover off and found corroded batteries. He took them out, cleaned the contacts, put fresh batteries in, and voila! the red light blinked underneath. Mom Peep tried it out on her mouse pad, and guess what?
“It works!” Mom Peep shouted from her office. “Thanks, Dad!”
To which I climbed up onto Dad’s chest and gave him a lick on his scratchy face. Nice thing he did for Mom Peep.
