Who said I’m like a tree?

Charlie Bear here.

Mom Peep said it. See, there are all these green, robust, tall and stately trees around Southern California.

HB Tree 003

You probably have lots of them as well. Some skinny, some extra leafy, some low to the ground and some reaching for the heavens.

But Mom came across this one:

HB Tree 006

And she knew if I was there I would say: “That’s a tree just like me!”

It’s out of place (it’s in a parking lot all by itself). It’s unusual (dingle-berries hang all over it). It’s a tree-of-a-different-color (bright orange?). It’s unique (that’s for sure). It’s bold, audacious, crimson and hurt-your-eyes bright (oh,  yeah…and I kinda like that).

Everything that is just like me. Mom and Dad Peep knew when they took me in that I was different. And they’ve loved me through all of my spinning and temper tantrums (which I still do by the way…just enough to keep them on their toes).

Anyway, do you have any trees-of-a-different color by you? Do you have any dogs-of-a-different-breed like me?

I say we all accept our differences. I may not be a tall, stately, full evergreen tree, but I have tons of good qualities.

And I bet if you look, you have them too. Right?

No, CB, I do not have any unusual trees around my house, only Drake Elm, Crape Myrtle & Pine. and they do the same gung ho every year; if you do not know what gung ho means, it is ‘Same Ole Thing’ but we love them anyway the same as your peeps do you. My Peeps would never let me go anyplace that I did not come back. Take Care, CB, and tell your peeps hi for my peeps.

      Gung Ho! I like that!
There’s something to be said about knowing exactly what you are going to get.

Charlie Bear, I have a sneaky suspicion your Mom Peep is so in love with you because you’re just a little different. We all are, really. And right now, I’m peeking out my little loft window into the branches of a mighty oak. Tell you Mom Peep, “Hi” for me, will you?

Yup, she loves me, even if I am quite different. I told her “Hi” for you. She says “hi” back!
