The Best…

Charlie Bear here. Last week I had THE BEST BATH EVER!

Charlie Bear after Bath 005

“Charlie Bear, you look so good,” Dad said when he saw me. “You’re hair is combed out, your’e so soft, and your face is even cleaned up really good. This is the best bath you’ve ever had. Who gave him such a great bath?”

Mom said, “I don’t know. It was probably one of the girls at the groomer’s. They always greet Charlie Bear with love and he runs up to them, turns over for belly rubs, and they scoop him up and snuggle him.”

“Well, whoever it was,” Dad replied, “they did a great job.”

And later that night, Dad added, “He’s also not showing any of his fidgety-ness after a bath like he usually does.”

“That’s right,” Mom said. “He usually spins a bit and chases his tail, and licks at himself a lot. There’s none of that this time.”

So Mom Peep called, and guess what they said? It wasn’t one of the girls at all, it was a guy named Jeff.

“Jeff has been with me the longest of all my groomers,” the owner said. “He’s quiet and doesn’t talk much, but he’s great with the animals.”

So Mom Peep went up there to meet Jeff. He came out with earpods in, quiet, kind of shy, and like the owner said, a man of few words. He was young, maybe in his late 20s Mom thinks.

“I just want you to know that Charlie Bear got the best bath ever from you yesterday,” Mom Peep told Jeff. “He’s a rescue, and it takes a lot for him, even still, to have a good experience being fussed over.”

The young man graciously accepted the gift card she brought him. Mom Peep felt so good. And me? I feel great, even though this morning Mom rubbed me with a towel  on my back for a second to get the oily residue off from the flea control medicine she put on me and I went into one of my vicious-sounding spin cycles. My goodness, I scare the heck out of my peeps when I spin like that.

Oh, well. I guess I can’t be “the best” all the time. I’m bound to fall back into my old patterns. Good thing Mom and Deep Peep still love me. I do hope they ask for Jeff the next time I need a bath, though. I like him.

Charlie B, I too do not always enjoy a bath at the groomers cause when I get one it seems to upset my scratching and itching something awful. Glad you and your peeps met Jeff and you like him so well, hope he sees you each time you go. It was nice of her to give him a gift card, men like those sort of things especially from women. Your picture is so cute and you are cute also, too bad we are both boys and can’t sweet it up with each other even by paper, lol. Take care CB until next time. Me & peep mom love you both.

    Woofs & Hugs,

You are sweet as can be and I’d snuggle with you even if we are both boy dogs! We could be bestest friends. Woofs!

You look so handsome Charlie Bear! My Candy has a wonderful groomer @ the HollyWoof Spa, named Elaine. You seem to have an instinct to know who really loves you.

The HollyWoof Spa? What a cool name. Mine is called The Doggie Spa. That’s cool, too. I kinda like that guy Jeff. He was easy-going with me. Maybe that’s what I need? I’m working on being good. I bet Candy is sweet! lol

Just too cute, spins and all. And Mom Peep was special and good to give Jeff a thank you card–she’s great, too.

Yes, she is and she does.
Charlie Bear, with her love, that of your Dad and people like the fabulous Jeff, you have come a long way. I remember your first professional grooming visit where it took the woman nearly 4 hours and your face wasn’t even done. She stopped every time that your stress level got too high and let you rest until you were ready to be touched again. I so love that dogs are willing to heal with humans give them space, love and respect.
So happy to read this! xoxo Foster Mom

      Foster Mommy!
I send you wiggles! I miss you! I do love it here, though. Dad Peep adores me to pieces and Mom Peep takes such good care of me and loves me too. Could never have come this far without YOU!

Charlie Bear, your mom peep is one the kindest people I’ve ever met. And she loves with her whole heart…so sweet of her to give a gift card to Jeff. That’s because she loves you.

Yup, she loves me. Even when I spin and growl she loves me. Huh.
      Wiggles to you,
      Charlie Bear
