What Do I Get to Eat Tomorrow?

November 21, 2012 at 10:37 am 10 comments

Charlie Bear here. If I had that big ‘ole turkey in front of me I’d chomp right into one of those yummy legs. I’d leave the yellow squash (if that’s what that is) and the green stuff like beans, and even the red jelly fish (okay, I think they call it cranberry sauce), all on the platter and in the bowls.

Oh, and after I stuff my snout with all that turkey, maybe a lick of pumpkin pie with cool whip? Or banana cream? I like bananas, but I like peanut butter more. Anybody make peanut butter cake?

All around me, people are looking forward to eating a big meal. Me, I’m looking forward to the pats on the head, the snuggles from Mom and Dad, the scraps they let me have, and most of all, the love.

I’m super dooper grateful for having a family, for the lady who found me and the foster mom who nurtured me. If I can say one thing for my gratefulness, it would be to consider adopting a pet when you get ready to add one to your household. Rescue Dogs Make Great Family Pets and the shelters/adoption sites/rescue foundations are full of them.

I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and to all my furry friends out there…go for the drumstick first!

Wiggles and Woofs,
Charlie Bear (and B.J. too)

Hi Charlie Bear, Glad you had a good Thanksgiving and I did also. My peep mom was gone to Ohio to see some of the grands & great grans and she said she had a marvelous time and got lots of sugar off those great grans. I got some bird & pig too, it was surely good. I was glad to see my peep come home on Sat, and hope she stays awhile, Got your gift pack last week and it was very nice, surely thoughtful of your peeps for sending them to us, we will truly enjoy the goodies. We are waiting on her to write another book, bet she could write another about you. Well bye for now and try to behave for wont be long before that man in the “Red Suit” comes in that Sleigh with the Raindeer pulling it along, so we gotta be nice or he might just ride on by.
Woofs to you, B.J. & Roger.

I keep telling Mom to write more about me. She says my voice in this blog and on the http://www.americanpetmagazine.com column is good for now.
So happy you got pig and bird. I only received a few pieces of bird, but that was good. Glad you like the goodie basket. We had fun picking out all the cool stuff to go in it.
My Mom can’t wait to see her new Great-Grandbaby. The sugar your Peep Mom got is well worth every mile to travel to see them I bet.
I’ll try to be really good for the Red Suit guy. This morning I snuggled with Mom and gave her more licks and kisses. Does that count?
      Wiggles and woofs to you,
      Charlie Bear

Glad you and your peeps had such a great Thanksgiving, Charlie. Our Crosby enjoyed the turkey scraps, too–didn’t get the drumstick, though. Soon Mom Peep will be holding her great-granddaughter…much to be thankful for! Blessings.

      Hi Jean,
Oh, I bet Crosby enjoyed those scraps, like me! Yes, Mom Peep looks at her Great-Granddaughter’s picture and smiles real big!
      Wiggles and Woofs to all,

Bailey and Skippy here. All we want is the following:
A chewy bone from Wal-mart (Bailey)
A nice comfortable bed – YAWN (Skippy)
Our peeps are going out to Uncle Dallas’s house for dinner anyhow. No leftovers for us. Rats.

      Bailey and Skippy,
Oh, yeah…a chewy bone, a comfy bed….you got it made in the nightlight.
Have a good yawn while the peeps are out.
      Wiggles to you,
      Charlie Bear

Beautiful gratitude post, Charlie Bear. I’m afraid Clyde would eat everything–even the red jelly fish. Love to you and your family this Thanksgiving!

Tell Clyde…”stay away from the red jelly fish!” That stuff is yucky.
      Woofs to you and Clyde-Sky.

Do you ever “Point” at the oven while the bird is cooking, Charlie? My schnauzer did that, once. We didn’t give him a lot of people food because he’d get an upset stomach, but Schatzi used to like little bits of banana and cucumber.

    • 10. bjtaylorblog  |  November 21, 2012 at 1:11 pm

Wow…a pointing Schnauzer! Mom Peep says Schatzi must have been a cutie (but not as cute as me…woof!).
Have a great Thanksgiving, Heidi, and thanks for commenting. And don’t forget…go for the drumstick!
