Change…from Charlie Bear and Mom Peep

January 7, 2012 at 6:41 am 12 comments

Mom Peep says it’s time. I agree because I absolutely love me, and pictures of me. But I know how hard it is for her.

She’s getting ready to change the little picture of the puppy that comes up when the posts come to your inbox via email. I think she’s going to go with a picture of me for a couple of reasons.

First, big dog Rex has been gone since June 1st. He’s over the Rainbow Bridge and frolicking with Diamond and Red and now even Bear, the three cats that lived here before me. But Mom will always have Rex in her heart. He’s a big, big part of her life. Always will be.

I can’t deny that. She had a special relationship with Rex, and she even put it in the book that we wrote together about my life and coming here to live. It’s the story of a year in the life of a headstrong rescue dog (that would be me) and Mom’s struggles with love. If I had to give it from a one to a ten in paws up, I’d give it a ten. But that’s just me.

So here we go with change. She’s going to start with this tiny one. She also wants to change the banner that runs across the top of the blog but she loves it. It represents the ocean, and fun, and meshes with her website look, so she’s not ready to change that yet. But it’s coming down the pipeline.

Even this one little photo change is going to be hard for her and I’ll give her lots of extra licks and kisses as she goes through the adjustment time. Everything takes adjustment time, don’t you think? Even something as small as this (don’t tell Mom this isn’t a really big thing on the radar of big things — to her it is).

So Happy New Year to all. And we hope you like the changes coming soon.

Wiggles & Woofs,
Charlie Bear

      John,
Nope — never will forget those who have gone on before us. I’ll see all of my buddies over the Rainbow Bridge someday.
In the meantime, I’m going to have fun in this lifetime and with my two peeps.
      Thanks for commenting, John.

I don’t like change either. I know change can be good, but I still say change is bad. You, Charlie Bear, might even say change bites. hehe. But it also brings new opportunities. Give your mom a hug from me and Kelly.

Peggy — change bites! Now that’s funny!

I’ll give Mom Peep a big hug from you and a lick from Kelly.

    Charlie Bear,
I love some change but don’t ever change too much. I sure do like your new pix cause it looks a lot like i do. When peep mom gets a chance or will just take a chance she will post a new pix of me and let you see just how much you do look like me. Reckon our moms found the same dad some place? Hardly, cause you live in sunny Calif., and i live way down in South GA., but you never can tell cause our parents surely can ‘get around’ what with all the different means of travel these days; speeding cars, fast airplanes, (Reckon their peeps put us in a crate and stuck us down in “The Cargo Bay? Oh curse the thought!!) buses & even somewhat faster trains,
You take care of your ‘Peep Dad & Mom’; help them deal with all the changes and we will chat again soon. I surely am glad i found you again.. Woofs & Hugs..

      Beaugie –

We look alike? How cool is that? Yup, there certainly are ways to travel quickly these days. No more horse and buggy, or wagon trains. Though, can you imagine being a dog with a wagon train? I bet those dogs were tough and I bet they got lots of good grub at night and even slept with the wagonmaster. What a life.

But me…I’m happy in my home, even the little changes Mom Peep wants to make. They’ll be good.

      Glad you are back, Beaugie!

Oh, yes, Charlie Bear, change is hard, especially when it concerns loves and hurts and memories…but good for us, ultimately. Give Mom Peep a big sloppy kiss from me.

      Jean,

I gave Mom Peep your big, sloppy kiss and she had to wipe her face afterwards! Thanks for the encouragement about change. Never easy, but a must.

Hi, Charlie Bear, (This is Bailey)
Remember this: change is good as long as it includes us. After all, what would our peeps be without us? I’ve brought some spark back into Mom’s life; at least, that’s what she tells me since Honey went over the Rainbow Bridge. Now, she’s not to the point of changing her blog to feature me all the time, but she does post my pictures on Facebook once in a while. And Skippy too.
But, man, you’re the big cheese! Never mind if you chewed up shoes and books and wee weeed all over the floor, and who knows what else. You’ve got your peep wrapped around your little paw.
H’m, maybe I should chew up a few things. Then Mom might put me on her blog! Nah, no way. “Facebook is enough,” she just said.

      Bailey,
A dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do to get some attention around here! Just kidding (kind of). Dad Peep gives me TONS of attention and loves me up all the time. I get cuddle time galore. And that’s right — what would our peeps be without their Charlie Bear, Bailey and Skippy to love! Pretty lonely I’m sure!
      Woofs & wiggles to you,

Just to let you know, PJ (a dear neighbor of mine) went over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She had Valley Fever, which is something i think is unique to Arizona…something you get when the sand is disturbed, and we’ve had that lots the last years with all the construction going on. Anyways, it hurts, and she coughed and coughed, couldn’t sleep and had lots of other things happening that are not fun. So i’m thing that Rex, Diamond, Red, and Bear have a new friend. i’m sure they’re having tons of fun. Love you…keep BJ encouraged.

      Marianne,
I’m so sad that you lost your friend. It’s not a happy time when that happens because we miss them so much. Yes, she’s probably with Rex and Diamond and Red and Bear up there in heaven. AT least she’s not coughing and coughing and not sleeping plus all the other things going on. That’s no fun to live that way.
      Take care of yourself.
      Woofs & wiggles to you,
      Charlie Bear
