“Something to Chew On” Charlie Bear with LAA #6

It was a good thing for me these new peeps were patient. I think I would have booted me out after the first few days. Maybe it helped that I showed them my fun side. The female peep tossed my squeaky frog back and forth for me. She liked to watch me bounce and run to retrieve it.

And there was something my male peep enjoyed doing on weekends. He liked to get up, have breakfast, and then go back upstairs. One morning I heard:

MALE PEEP: “Charlie Bear, come up here.”

Music to my ears. I bounded up the staircase and ran into the bedroom. There was a lump under the covers. I jumped up on the bed, pounced on the lump, and discovered it was my male peep. Joy and happiness!

MALE PEEP: “Come over here you little monkey.”

I weaved and bobbed and jumped on top of him. It made him laugh, a sound I liked, so I did it some more. After a while, I heard:

MALE PEEP: “Okay, Charlie, settle down and let’s go to sleep.”

Was he kidding? I was energized, wired, wound up tight like a tape measure in its case. There was no sleeping for me. And all that excitement made me want to relieve myself. So I did. Right there on the comforter on the bed.

Oops.

Humans are always doing that! They get you all enthused then they’re ready to quit. Try crawling under the covers and walk around some. That always works for me. Add a couple of high pitched barks for added reaction.

Sandy, thanks for the great advice! I need to learn to control myself (in more ways than one).
